What does the “BPA and BPS Free” Icon on your packaging mean?
The chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) is widely known to be a hormone disrupter. Acting like an estrogen imposter, BPA has been linked to cancer, type 2 diabetes, depression, heart disease and a number of other ailments. BPA can be especially dangerous in pregnancy, infancy and childhood – so much so that many governments around the world have banned BPA in the production of baby bottles (as well as other products).
The chemical bisphenol-S (BPS) is used as a plasticizer by some manufacturers and, in many cases, has been used to replace BPA. BPS is also a hormone disrupter, but is currently allowed for the production of baby bottles and similar products.
Because safety is a top priority for Lansinoh, we have taken proactive measures to ensure our Lansinoh® mOmma® bottles with NaturalWave® Nipples are BPA and BPS free.

My pad has crusty parts—should I throw it away?
If the pad becomes dirty or has crusty areas, use a clean, damp (not wet) cloth as needed to clean it. This may also lengthen the life of the pad.
Can I use medicinal ointment/creams with Soothies® by Lansinoh® Gel Pads?
Be sure to follow your physician’s instructions for usage with medicinal or other ointments. If your prescribing healthcare provider has given the ok to use the ointment with Soothies® by Lansinoh Gel Pads, we recommend putting on a very thin layer and then letting it absorb into your skin prior to applying Soothies® by Lansinoh® Gel Pads on top.
Can I use Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin with Soothies® by Lansinoh® Gel Pads?
We do not recommend using HPA® Lanolin with Soothies by Lansinoh® Gel Pads because they are both designed to promote soothing relief and we do not want the surface to be too moist as maceration can occur. However, if there is residual HPA® Lanolin on your breasts when you use Soothies®, do not be alarmed. No reactions will occur with the glycerin and the lanolin.
Why do I need to wash my breast after removing Soothies® by Lansinoh® Gel Pads before breastfeeding?
We recommend you gently wipe or cleanse your breast prior to breastfeeding to remove any gel residue or debris that may have gotten stuck to the gel pad in between usage.

Soothies are made of water, vegetable based glycerin, and a non-toxic binding agent called Polyacrylamide. If your baby ate a portion of your gel pad, it will dissolve and come out through baby’s stool. To be safe, please contact your baby’s primary healthcare provider.
