2S too fast and now 3M too slow...

We kept the Lansinoh bottles because we got them on registry and it was well outside of the return window when we started supplementing with bottle feeding at 3 or 4 weeks old. Even at this age for a full term the 2S was way too fast. And nowt that she's 4M old we tried using the 3M nipples and they're way too slow. I compare the flow rate of the two nipples under a running tap, and they're basically indistinguishable...

      Hello
We are sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied with the Lansinoh Nipples. We designed our NaturalWave nipple to create an experience that mimics breastfeeding. About the flow, our slow (2S) flow nipple is designed to drip while inverted. To help your baby learn how to handle the flow, we recommend holding the baby in a more upright fashion and holding the bottle more horizontally to decrease the dripping. Our 3M, medium flow nipple is not designed to drip like our 2S, Slow Flow Nipple. The medium-flow nipple is designed to allow milk to flow when there is pressure on the nipple. This helps the baby to control the flow of milk and train their sucking ability. With that said, we would like to learn more. Our Consumer Affairs team will be reaching out to you through the email that you provided with this email.

    Needs a slower flow nipple

Bought this for my newborn to have a bottle that would complement the breastfeeding since I will need to go back to work but the slow flow nipple is way to fast for my newborn. She chokes on it just as much as she does with my oversupply and fast letdown within the first few weeks of birth regardless of baby and bottle positioning They need a slower flow nipple.

      Hello AKchick,

Thank you for providing your feedback. We understand your need for level 1 nipples for bottles, but unfortunately, we do not carry any products smaller than 2S, which is considered our slow-flow nipples. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To help your baby learn how to handle the flow, we recommend holding the baby in a more upright fashion and holding the bottle more horizontally to decrease the dripping. Additionally, it could be helpful to consult with your pediatrician or lactation consultant, as they might be able to provide further guidance on where to find level 1 nipples or suggest alternative solutions. If you have any additional questions or feedback that you would like to provide, please send an email to wecare@lansinoh.com. Thank you.

    Not a true slow flow

Almost every review I see has the same issue as I do. The slow flow is way too fast, even after positioning the baby as recommended, it’s far too fast. Please make a slower flow nipple

Size 2 slow flow is way too fast

I delivered very prematurely and have a very low milk supply, so my babe has to work pretty hard to get milk from my breast. I love the shape of these nipples and had high hopes for this bottle to be a solution to help my baby continue to love a breast that doesn’t feed him a ton of milk. Instead, these nipples drown him: he gags and chokes and spills milk around the nipple and ultimately spits up from all the air he takes in while gasping to keep up with the flow. This is true even when following the recommendations to hold baby more upright and bottle more horizontal. There is just no way to adequately slow thr flow for my baby. As comparison, Dr. Browns offer three levels of slow-flow: preemie, transitional, and level 1; Lanisoh slow-flow is much faster than Dr. Browns level 1. While I like the nipple shape and ease of assembly of these Lanisoh bottles much better than any other bottles we’ve tried, I’m disappointed that a bottle specifically designed to help with breast feeding wouldn’t offer a nipple appropriate for baby-mom pairs like us who work very hard to maintain the small amount of breast feeding we can but depend on bottles to get adequately fed. Like the many others who are discouraged by a supposedly breast-like bottle that only represents some gold standard breast, I implore Lanisoh to make an ultra slow flow nipple so those of us with slower-flowing milk and slower-eating babies can take advantage of this otherwise excellent bottle.

Slow Flow Nipple is too fast

If you are thinking about switching to this bottle do your research on flow rates because this slow flow is MUCH faster than many others. I do NOT recommend it if your baby is at a slow flow stage.
