Is sunscreen safe?
When it warms up, we all can't wait to get outside. Learn what's safe for babies under 6 months.
- How much sun is safe for baby? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that babies under 6 months be kept out of direct sunlight. If you're headed to the beach, bring an umbrella. Going to the park? Sit in a shaded area or bring a stroller canopy!
- Can baby wear sunscreen? If you can't get to the shade, you can apply a minimal amount of sunscreen (at least SPF 15) to small areas like baby's face and back of hands according to the AAP.
- What if baby gets sunburned? Ouchie! Apply a cool compress to the affected area. Our TheraPearl is a great multitasker!
