Breastfeeding

Question:

Why is it that my son falls asleep quicker when I breast-feed him then when I give him a bottle

Answer:

When babies are nursing, the hormone, Oxytocin, is released which can cause warm feelings and can make baby (and mom!) sleepy. When baby is at the breast they also feel warm and snuggly against mom, feeling your body heat,  and that is also a reason they fall asleep at the breast.  There is nothing wrong with your milk and this is a normal occurance.
