Biting

Question:

My 5 month old now has his bottom two teeth. He has been biting me since they came in. I've taken him off and sternly told him no, that has had no effect. I don't want to have to wean, but it may happen if he doesn't stop. It's very painful. I don't know what else to try. How can I get my 5 month old to stop biting me?

Answer:

I know it is difficult but repetition will eventually make an impact with him.  You can offer a cold teether before hand to soothe his gums. You may need to remove him several times for him to get the message unfortunately.  In meantime, use HPA Lanolin or Soothies Gel Pads to help with the soreness. Hang in there.
