Nipple Residue

Question:

I am expecting my 3rd child who I plan to breastfeed. My question is why does my nipple gets so dry with a caked hard stuffs on it? And how do i get it off? I am scared my baby may swallow it while i breast feed he.r

Thank you

Answer:

Audrey,

Most likely what you are noticing on your nipple is dry skin and milk. There is not need to worry about your little one swallowing this while feeding. You can use HPA Lanolin on your nipples after each feeding this helps them maintain their natural moisture and will prevent them from getting dry.

All the best,
