Bottle Feeding

My baby is 6 weeks old and is breastfeeding. I am training him to take bottle but he just does not take it. I used Avent and than bought Lansinoh bottle. He does not take either. Whenever we try he just cries. He will hold the bottle in his mouth but will not suck. Please advise as to what should I do. I have to get back to work next month.

Jasmine,  I understand this can be very frustrating.  Have you had someone else offer the bottle to the baby other than you? It would also help for you to not be around or in the room as he may wonder why he cant just nurse and be getting confused.  Try to watch his feeding cues and offer the bottle before he gets over hungry as that can affect his likelihood of taking the bottle as well. It may also be that you need a faster flow --have you tried the medium flow in the Lansinoh NaturalWave nipple?
