I am trying to breast feed exclusively when I have to be away for her I pump and leave it in bottles the problem is she doesn't want to take the bottle, so I can't leave her I have to take her every where with me. Its fine but I'm wondering is there anything I can do? Thank you!
Getting an exclusively breastfed baby to take a bottle can definitely be a challenge. Something to try would be have your partner or another caregiver feed the bottle when you are not in the room. Many times if mom is around babies won't want a bottle because they would rather have the real thing! Also try to give a bottle when baby isn't fussy or overly hungry. After a bath right before bedtime is great time to try.
Also the type of bottle can make a difference. The Lansinoh mOmma Bottle with NaturalWave Nipple is specially designed for breastfed babies. It allows them to use the same sucking motions they learn at the breast. This way they don't have to learn a new way of feeding to take the bottle and they are able to easily return to the breast. Hope this helps!
